During surges, state and local public health agencies may focus outbreak investigation resources on six populations identified as being at greatest risk of adverse outcomes or significant disruptions due to COVID-19. At-risk populations include healthcare, correctional settings, highly mobile populations, schools, critical infrastructure, and tribes and Native communities.

Data may not be comparable across counties over time as outbreak reporting, investigation, and posting may vary by county, especially when transmission levels are high.

Colorado’s outbreak data represents only a portion of all COVID-19 cases in the state. This data alone should not be used to associate exposure risk with specific settings.
The department will continue to evaluate disease burden every month and work with local public health agencies on outbreak investigation.
Probable cases have been combined with confirmed cases.

The outbreak map displays the location of all confirmed outbreaks reported to CDPHE. It's updated each Wednesday after the weekly outbreak surveillance report is published.
