STATEWIDE (June 14, 2022) — The state of Colorado continues to implement Colorado’s Roadmap to Moving Forward with the closure of additional testing sites at the end of the month. This continues the gradual transition to normalize COVID-19 testing in traditional healthcare settings and through federal programs including the Test to Treat program and free, at-home rapid tests available at COVIDTests.gov. The remaining state-run sites have a total capacity of 8,000 tests a day, with the ability to scale up to roughly 17,000 tests per day in a surge state. CDPHE’s testing vendors can increase staff and capacity with a seven to 14 day lead time.
“Currently, the state is processing approximately 2,200 tests per day. Under the operational plan beginning July 1, this would represent a little more than 25% of the 8,000 tests per day planned capacity. We feel confident in this transition, especially with the ability to surge to 17,000 tests per day should we need to,” said Scott Bookman, COVID-19 Incident Commander, CDPHE. “CDPHE prioritized location, equity and site traffic in order to keep the testing sites with the most utility available to Coloradans.”
Similar to flu or other endemic communicable diseases, diagnostic testing, treatment, and vaccination services are now more accessible through health care providers. Additionally,COVID-19 testing is available through multiple federal programs including COVIDTests.gov, a pharmacy-commercial laboratory partnership titled Increased Community Access to Testing (ICATT), and the Test to Treat program. Test to Treat allows people to get tested for COVID-19, get a prescription for treatment from a health care provider, and have their prescription filled all at one location if they are positive and treatments are appropriate. Coloradans can find COVID testing sites on CDPHE’s testing map, which will be updated to reflect the July 1 closures.
CDPHE is committed to providing a safety net of services to those most at risk as a part of a future emergency surge response. This includes a reserve of over-the-counter rapid tests for community distribution, testing options dedicated to residential care settings, and the ability to increase staffing in a two-to-four week time frame should the state need to increase capacity at existing sites. The state is also working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to build on lessons learned from the last academic year to deploy a school testing program that optimizes testing for the 2022-2023 school year.

El gobierno de Colorado anuncia sus operaciones en los meses venideros respecto a las pruebas de detección
COLORADO (14 de junio de 2022) - El gobierno de Colorado sigue implementando la hoja de ruta del Estado (Roadmap to Moving Forward) con el cierre de más centros de pruebas de detección a finales de mes. Continuamos así el gradual traspaso de la gestión de las pruebas del COVID-19, desde los centros de pruebas comunitarios patrocinados por el Estado hacia establecimientos de salud convencionales y hacia los programas administrados por el gobierno federal, incluido el programa “Test to Treat”, así como la distribución de pruebas caseras, rápidas y gratuitas disponibles en COVIDTests.gov. Los centros patrocinados por el Estado que aún permanecen abiertos tienen un suministro total de 8,000 pruebas al día, con la posibilidad de brindar hasta aproximadamente 17,000 pruebas al día en caso de un aumento brusco de pedidos. Los proveedores de pruebas del CDPHE pueden incrementar la dotación de personal y su capacidad operativa en un plazo de 7 a 14 días.

Así como sucede con la gripe u otras enfermedades transmisibles endémicas, los servicios de pruebas de diagnóstico, tratamiento y vacunación de mayor accesibilidad son los brindados por proveedores de atención médica. En otro orden de cosas, cabe recordar que las pruebas de COVID-19 están disponibles a través de varios programas federales, como COVIDTests.gov, una asociación entre farmacias y laboratorios comerciales llamada Increased Community Access to Testing (ICATT, por sus siglas en inglés), y el programa “Test to Treat”. Mediante el programa “Test to Treat”, las personas pueden hacerse la prueba del COVID-19, obtener una receta para el tratamiento por parte de un proveedor de atención médica, y hacerse entregar los medicamentos en el mismo lugar (si la prueba les dio positivo y el tratamiento es adecuado). Los habitantes de Colorado podrán encontrar los centros de detección contra el COVID-19 en el mapa ofrecido por CDPHE, que será actualizado para incluir los cierres de centros del 1 de julio.
El CDPHE se ha comprometido a proporcionar una red de seguridad de servicios a aquellos que corren mayor riesgo de enfermarse como parte de una futura respuesta de emergencia. La red incluye una reserva de pruebas rápidas de venta libre para la distribución en la comunidad, opciones de pruebas destinadas a entornos de atención residencial y la capacidad de incrementar la dotación de personal en un plazo de dos a cuatro semanas si el Estado necesitase ampliar la capacidad operativa en los centros existentes.
